WRONG IMAGINATIONS DENY CHRISTIANS THEIR BLESSINGS

Some Christians fail to have their prayers answered because of their wrong imaginations.
Even though you’re a good prayer warrior but once the imagination in your heart is negative, your prayers will not be answered. For instance if you are praying asking for the best, yet when you close your eyes what you see is the worst in your life. A man from my village found himself reduced to the highest level of penury by the Biafra war. So in 1973, three years after the civil war ended he was broke to the extent that he can not afford to pay his house rent. The man was staying at Enugu at that time. And the worst to him is that his children were sent out of school and they were whiling away time at home while their mates were in school. This state of affairs began to eat at the man and he began to imagine in his heart his children would never be able to go to school and be educated. At a time he asked his wife to take their children to the village that he would send for them when his situation changes. Two days after his wife travelled to the village with his children, he used knife to cut his throat and he died. His negative imaginations lead him to hold a picture of a bleak future for his children and since he could not bear to see them as failures, Satan lied to him to commit suicide. Years later the children became successful, some obtained degrees in their chosen fields. At a point they built house for their mother, bought a car for her and gave a driver to her. The man would have been enjoyed all these, but because of his wrong and negative imaginations killed himself.
The same wrong imagination that hindered the original Israelites that left Egypt to the promise land. Though their desire is to enter the land flowing with milk and honey, but the imagination of their heart were negative that was why they died in the wilderness except Joshua and Caleb (numbers 13:26-33). In this bible account, twelve spies were sent to spy the promise land and when they returned after forty days, ten out of the twelve reported that though the land is a land flowing with milk and honey that they would not be able to take it because they were like grasshoppers compared to the people living in the land. I want you to understand that when they said they were like grasshoppers they were relaying the mental picture their imagination.
In other words, they had a picture in their imaginations but that picture was contrary to the promises of God for them. In their own imagination, they saw themselves not as great men and women empowered and backed by God’s promises that can possess what God had promised. They saw themselves as weak, insignificant and powerless so they died like grasshoppers.
In summary, I want you to understand that your life goes in the direction of your thinking for you are the character of your thoughts. Note that nothing will be restrained from that which you have imagined to do. So it does not matter what has happened to you or in what unpleasant situation you find yourself, there is hope. You can either decide to remain there or come out of it by provoking your imagination to see a better future. Always appraise the situation from the standpoint of GOD’S word, for nothing in this life can make you permanently disadvantaged if you are willing to dream.
